Jetties are often exposed to high
saltwater concentrations, which accelerate corrosion processes,
particularly in the piles, steel structures, and other submerged
components.
How SARK EPC Protects:
ICCP Systems:
For large and complex jetty structures, we design customized ICCP
system that uses DC power supply and inert anodes (e.g., titanium)
placed strategically around the structure. This continuous current flow
prevents corrosion by keeping the steel in the jetty’s components in a
reduced, non-corroding state. Specialized fabricated clamps are our key
offering and speciality for mounting of ICCP anodes and reference
electrodes on the jetty piles.
SACP System: For
smaller or less complex jetty structures aluminium anodes are used
providing sacrificial protection to the jetty's metal components exposed
to sea water / sea mud.
Real-Time Monitoring: We
integrate Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) for continuous assessment of
the CP system's effectiveness, ensuring optimal protection and allowing
for predictive maintenance to avoid any potential failures.
2. Cathodic Protection for Sheet Piles
Sheet piles, often used in marine and
waterfront construction (e.g., quay walls, docks), are in direct
contact with seawater, making them highly susceptible to corrosion from
tidal fluctuations, wave action, and marine biofouling.
How SARK EPC Protects:
ICCP Systems:We
design and implement impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP)
systems to provide continuous protection for sheet piles above and below
the waterline. These systems use an external power source to deliver a
protective current, preventing corrosion in both submerged and exposed
areas. The protection system can be designed for both – sea facing side
and land facing sides.
SACP System: For
localized protection of submerged sections of sheet piles, we install
sacrificial anode-based cathodic protection (SACP). These anodes corrode
in place of the sheet pile, offering an effective and cost-efficient
solution for preventing corrosion in high-risk zones.
Tailored Solutions:
We customize our CP solutions based on the sheet pile's size, exposure
conditions, and material type, ensuring the most cost-effective and
long-lasting protection.
Ongoing Monitoring:
Our CP systems are equipped with advanced monitoring tools that track
the condition of the sheet piles, providing real-time data to detect
corrosion risks and take corrective actions before any structural damage
occurs.
3.Cathodic Protection for Offshore Structures
Offshore platforms, rigs, and
pipelines face some of the harshest conditions—saltwater, pressure, and
wave action which increase the corrosion rates of metal structures.
How SARK EPC Protects:
Comprehensive CP Design:
For offshore oil and gas platforms, pipelines, and other submerged
structures, we employ ICCP System in combination with SACP System,
particularly in deep-water environments where direct access for
maintenance is challenging. We have licenced software for this kind of
specialized CP design which work on Boundary Element Method. For

Corrosion Monitoring and Protection:
We deploy advanced RMS that provide continuous data on the cathodic
protection effectiveness and monitor parameters like current and voltage
across offshore structures.
Life Cycle Extension:
Our CP solutions are designed to extend the life cycle of offshore
assets, significantly reducing the need for expensive repairs and
shutdowns.
4. Cathodic Protection for Harbor Facilities
Harbor facilities consist of a
variety of infrastructure elements such as piers, docks, fenders,
loading/unloading systems, and marine terminals, all of which are
exposed to aggressive seawater corrosion.
How SARK EPC Protects:
Customized CP Solutions:
We tailor CP systems to different harbour facility components. For
piers and docks, SACP System is used to prevent localized corrosion,
while for larger structural elements like fenders and piles, ICCP
Systems provide continuous protection.
Zone Protection:
For large harbours, we design integrated CP systems that cover both the
submerged and above-water portions of the structures, ensuring complete
protection across all zones.
Monitoring & Maintenance:
We customize our CP solutions based on the sheet pile's size, exposure
conditions, and material type, ensuring the most cost-effective and
long-lasting protection.
